Great Start For The Newcomers

 

First game, and first big surprise of the new LOTTO Ekstraklasa season - 2017/18. After a year of absence, Górnik Zabrze came back in style beating the current Polish Champions - Legia Warsaw - 3:1. Two goals were scored by last season's golden boot winner of the 1 League, Igor Angulo.

It was a special day for the fans and players of Sandecja Nowy Sącz who in their 107-year-old history, played their 1st ever game in Poland's top football league. The opponent was from the top shelf - last year's 3rd place holder Lech Poznań. Although there were plenty of chances for both sides, the match ended in a 0-0 tie.
