

After 35 years, Górnik Zabrze finished the season in second place again. The runners-up title was sealed with a spectacular victory.
An impressive 6:2 victory over Radomiak Radom in matchday 34 sealed the success of Górnik Zabrze. This is the first time the Trójkolorowi have finished the season on the podium since the 1993/1994 season, and the first time in second place since the 1990/1991 season. The previous longest gap between two seasons in the TOP-2 of the Polish championship is: Polonia Warszawa between 1946 and 1998.
Górnik Zabrze as hosts recorded the most wins (11) and earned the most points (37). Whenever they took the lead this season, they did not lose. They ultimately collected 56 points, the same as Jagiellonia Białystok, whom they beat twice.
Coach Michal Gasparik can boast a streak of 6 consecutive seasons in the TOP-3 of the domestic league with his team (Slovakia: 20/21 - 24/25 - 5x 3rd place; 25/26 - 2nd or 3rd place). At the end of the 2025/2026 campaign, Lukas Podolski became the oldest outfield player in the history of the Ekstraklasa (at the time: 40 years 353 days; previous record: Piotr Reiss – 40 years 347 days).
